Everything the tool does

1. Your materials, at true cost

List every material you buy. Each time you restock, add what you paid — the tracker keeps a weighted average, so a dearer second batch blends honestly with the first instead of rewriting history.

2. A recipe for every product

What goes into one finished piece, matched to its Etsy listing by Listing ID or SKU. Your minutes in the piece are counted too — shown separately, never hidden inside the cost of goods, because your time is not a material.

3. Orders from Etsy's own files

Bring in the Orders, Order Items, and monthly statement files Etsy gives you. You see exactly what the files hold before anything is saved — nothing is written until you confirm.

4. Every Etsy fee, line by line

Transaction, payment processing, listing, regulatory, Offsite Ads, currency conversion, and VAT on fees where it applies — computed from a fee table versioned by date, so last spring's orders still use last spring's rates. Each line is marked: read from your files, worked out from published rates, or spread from your statement.

5. The answer screen

Per product: units sold, money in, every fee, materials, refunds given back, what you kept, and the margin. A product losing money is flagged in plain words. A product with no recipe shows its sales and fees but no kept number — the tool never invents a cost.

6. Pricing calculator + tax worksheet

Price the next piece to keep the share you choose — ordinary sale and Offsite Ads sale side by side. At tax time, print a worksheet in the shape of Schedule C: receipts, refunds, every fee, materials bought, and the cost of the goods you sold.

Cost tracking is not tax advice. This tool organizes your own numbers; it does not prepare or file your taxes. Show the worksheet to your tax preparer.

How buying works

1. Pay once

One payment on Stripe — $45, or $35 while the founding hundred lasts. No account to create, no card kept on file with us.

2. Your key arrives by email

Automatically, the moment the payment lands. Keep the email — the key is your way back in.

3. Open your tracker

Go to mykeptmoney.com/app, type the key once, and the tracker remembers your browser after that. Your data lives under your key, and only your key opens it.

Questions before you buy

What if Etsy changes its fees?

The fee table is versioned by date and kept current by us. Updates are included through the end of your purchase year; after that, the next year's edition is offered to owners at a discount. It is never auto-charged — there is nothing to auto-charge with.

Which sellers is it for?

Solo and small handmade shops that buy materials and make physical things — candles, soap, jewelry, pottery, textiles, woodwork. If you sell digital downloads with no materials, the free calculator above is honestly all you need.

I am outside the US. Does it work for me?

Yes — pick your bank country in setup and the fee table uses your rates, including the regulatory operating fee and VAT on fees where they apply. Fee rates checked November 2026 against Etsy's published fee schedule.
